Located next to Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Asolo Repertory Theatre (Asolo Rep) is Florida’s premier professional theatre and is a major force in Sarasota’s rich arts scene. Asolo Rep stages up to fifteen productions every season with more that 100 artists, technical craftsmen, and administrative staff all coming together with award-winning directors, designers, and guest artists to bring a diverse repertoire of plays and productions. Asolo Rep also has an on-going partnership with the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training where students undergo a rigorous 3-year Masters of Fine Arts program with their last year performing with the Asolo Rep’s mainstage company.
The Asolo Theatre has three stages, the Mertz Theatre where the Asolo Rep company perform, Cook Theatre where the FSU Conservatory students perform, and 18th century European Historic Asolo Theatre which hosts one Asolo Rep performance and one Conservatory performance each season.
